Brad “Maverick” Morrison joined the Florida SBDC at USF as a business consultant with a defense and aerospace and management consulting career spanning nearly two decades. He started his career in the Naval Aviation community and has extensive executive management and leadership experience with a focus on technology, engineering, and logistic operational services. He recently served as vice president of business development for a private equity firm based in the Washington , D.C. area. Prior to this role he served as managing director for a management consulting and engineer firm with more than $10M in annual revenue. Prior to this role he helped launch a technology startup operating in the nexus between Silicon Valley and the Department of Defense. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt and has been a key player on several projects and initiatives with the Department of Defense, Homeland Security and the Department of State. His clients have included the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), all the military services, FEMA, Department of Treasury (DOT), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Department of Justice (DOJ), the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), as well as other agencies. As a member of the Native American community, he is also an advocate for entrepreneurship and minority-owned business success in underrepresented sectors. He is a registered member of the federally recognized Miami Tribe of Native Americans.
