Federal, State, and Local Government procurement is the largest target market in the world. If you think you can be competitive, then government contracting may be a good growth opportunity for your business.

The "Government Contracting Overview" seminar, presented by the Florida PTAC at UCF in partnership with the Florida SBDC at UCF, is designed for established small business owners with some commercial momentum that are curious about government contracting, as well as business owners that may already be involved in government contracting.

This workshop will present government contracting in three components:

  1. Positioning for Government Contracting
  2. Developing Reactive Business Development Strategies
  3. Developing Proactive Business Development Strategies

Specifically, we will discuss registration requirements, social-economic certification opportunities, market research tools, Florida PTAC's "Bid-Match" system, and what we refer to as the initial "Marketing Tool Kit" for government contractors.

SBA Workshop: Common Problems with 8(a) Business Development Program Applications, Wednesday, July 13, 2022

Where: Online
When: Wednesday, July 13, 2022 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Topic: Government Contracting

The SBA's 8(a) Business Development ("BD") program is one of the most powerful federal government certification programs that permit eligible, certified businesses to obtain sole source and limited competition contracting opportunities.

In order to ensure that applicant businesses are eligible for certification, the SBA conducts a thorough review of an applicant's business - including review of business documents, company tax returns, personal tax returns for some owners, and on-site interviews. However, due to the overall complexity of the application and its underlying regulations, many applicants have trouble actually achieving certification, or their applications languish in the evaluation process.

Federal, State, and Local Government procurement is the largest target market in the world. 3. Developing Proactive Business Development Strategies

Specifically, we will discuss registration requirements, social-economic certification opportunities, market research tools, Florida PTAC's "Bid-Match" system, and what we refer to as the initial "Marketing Tool Kit" for government contractors.
