Matthew McIntyre is a business consultant for the Florida SBDC at USF with over 12 years of operations management and lean initiatives in the manufacturing industry. McIntyre started working in manufacturing at the age of 18 and within a few months was a production supervisor. He later joined the Marine Corps and served for four years, utilizing his GI bill to go to school. After college he went back into manufacturing for several years, for multiple companies in different industries.
With his extensive experience and background, McIntyre started his own asphalt maintenance company as well as a digital marketing and consulting company, helping businesses increase their reach and apply lean principles at start-up to reduce costs. As a result of lean principles, McIntyre has led over 30 different Kaizen events with the average annual cost savings of over $500,000 annually and consulted over 20 different start-ups from formation to rapid growth. McIntyre holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and leadership from Le Moyne College as well as an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Syracuse University.
