Bridge Loan Helps Brooksville-based Adventure Course
TreeUmph! Adventure Course of Hernando County
TreeUmph! Adventure Course is a business focused on combining an enjoyment of nature with a thirst for fun and adventure. TreeUmph! Is a tree-based aerial obstacle course with zip lines and obstacles in the trees, located in Brooksville.
Hurricane Irma left behind a path of damage in and around the trees, taking out games, obstacles, zip lines, tunnels, bridges and nets. This led to co-owners Aaron and Kathy Corr seeking a temporary solution for getting their business back in the air. Seeking assistance with filing for a State of Florida Emergency Bridge Loan, the Corrs reached out to the Florida SBDC at University of South Florida business consultant, Bill Burnham, located at the Greater Hernando Chamber of Commerce.
When asked about their experience with the storm and the assistance received, the Corrs recalled:
What type of damage occurred?
Our business is really in and around the trees – it’s really all about the trees and we had a lot of trees down and with those trees going down, we lost some games or obstacles – zip lines, bridges, tunnels, nets – that were up in the trees.
How will the Bridge Loan help?
Extremely useful. It gives us capital immediately to start coming up with solutions as we work out the details with insurance. It will help us greatly.
How was the Florida SBDC at USF helpful during this process?
Bill has helped us the most as far as getting the application in. He was awesome. Really on it. He was very easy to reach and got back to us immediately. The process was really very expedited. It definitely met our range of when we needed it to be done. It wouldn’t have happened as fast without Bill. As soon as we knew the loan was approved, the closing was set up quick and fast.
