Bridge Loan Helps Indian Rocks Beach Restaurant ‘Rebuild’

Success Stories

18 on the Rocks of Pinellas County

Bridge Loan Helps Indian Rocks Beach Restaurant ‘Rebuild’Located on Indian Rocks Beach, 18 on the Rocks is a full-service, family-friendly restaurant and bar serving steaks, salads, seafood and more.

Having recently gone through a remodel, Hurricane Irma wreaked havoc on the restaurant, damaging the property and affecting revenues. To keep things running smoothly until the restaurant can recover its losses, co-owner Doug Thompson, reached out to the Florida SBDC at University of South Florida for assistance in applying for the State of Florida’s Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan.

When asked about his experience with the storm and the assistance received, he recalled:

What type of damage occurred?
Damage to the roof, floors, furniture, electrical and HVAC.

How will the Bridge Loan help?
The loan is helpful with the loss of business, produce and the rebuild of the building.

How was the Florida SBDC at USF helpful during this process?
We could not have rebuilt our business without their help.
