Federal office assists small businesses in government contracting

Featured News, Government Contracting

When many small businesses began to create their target audience in marketing, chances are they miss out on a great opportunity by excluding the government.  Working with the federal government can be a lucrative choice for a small business. It could be the key to help any small business grow.

According to USAspending.gov, the federal government awarded over $345 billion in government contracts in 2014.

No matter what industry a business may be in, there is a place for it in all government entities. Small businesses may be discouraged to try to compete for government contracts because they may feel they do not have a chance to compete with already well-established companies. However, the Office of Small Business Programs, ran by the Department of Defense, helps small businesses earn contracts.

These business professionals are advocates to small businesses, and help them step-by-step to win government contracts.

The professionals specifically help the following types of businesses:

  • Small businesses
  • Veterans and service-disabled Veteran-owned
  • Women-owned
  • Businesses in a HUBzone
  • Underutilized businesses

These small businesses professionals can help those small businesses establish relationships with buyers and customers that need certain products and or services.

So what are the benefits of working with the government? Not only can these professionals help grow a business and bring in a heavy cash flow, working with the government can help establish the business and create a great reputation that can open many more doors. Working with the government offers many networking and marketing opportunities that can showcase and back up a quality product or service.
