Florida SBDC at USF to host Florida Export Series

TAMPA (February 6, 2014) – The Florida SBDC at University of South Florida will host the Florida Export Series, beginning February 13. The series will feature three seminars throughout the month of February, taught by Certified Global Business Professionals, Eileen Rodriguez and Selma Canas. The goal of the series is to put businesses on the right path toward growing their international market.

February 13 – Introduction to Trade

Topics include export readiness, market selection and research, payment methods and financing.

February 20  – Dealing with Your Export Market

This course covers the international business culture. Topics include understanding cultural differences, customary etiquette, protocol, communication across culture, gift giving and dealing with interpreters.

February 27 – Export Documentation and Compliance

Topics include harmonized codes, free trade agreements, licensing and compliance with U.S. government agencies, export documentation and INCOTERMS.

Cost of the series is $120 and includes all three courses, three textbooks and handouts. Attendees must pre-register online.

The Florida SBDC at the University of South Florida is a member of the Florida SBDC Network, a statewide partnership program nationally accredited by the Association of America’s SBDCs and funded in part by the U.S. Small Business Administration, Defense Logistics Agency, State of Florida, and other private and public partners, with the University of West Florida serving as the network’s lead host institution.
