Florida SBDC at USF employee wins State award
MIAMI (June 29, 2015) — Stacey Pierce, Marketing and Communications Officer for the Florida SBDC at University of South Florida, is the Employee of the Year for the Florida SBDC Network. The announcement came during the Annual Conference, held in Miami June 22-26.
Pierce’s efforts in supporting the region’s consultants in 2014 led the organization and clients to gain more exposure in the community. The USF region was able to publish 44 engaging client feature stories, doubling the previous highest level of output. The stories have been consistently picked up for publication by the State office and partner organizations such as SelectFlorida and Florida Trend, due to her flair for capturing the clients and consultants in a way that exemplifies the organization’s mission and vision.
She travels to the 10-county region the organization serves in order to meet with key stakeholders and partners, chambers of commerce, business groups and potential new media partners. This has helped her establish a network of contacts that routinely push out content, business information and event notifications.
Pierce is a key participant, thought leader and influencer on the Florida SBDC Network’s statewide marketing and professional development teams.
“Stacey has demonstrated an unequaled level of quality and success within our center,” Eileen Rodriguez, Regional Director, said. “She has made a huge difference in the level of service that we can provide to our small business clients.”
Pierce holds a master’s degree in Digital Journalism and Design from University of South Florida St. Petersburg.
